Japanese Maple Trees

Japanese Maple trees have become popular in landscapes due to their characteristic exotic look and colorful foliage. Exotic maple varieties are another common choice in Japanese gardens because of their changing colors signify the turning of the seasons.

Caring for the Japanese maples require adequate water, soil nutrients and occasional pruning for maximum growth and blooming. Ensuring sunlight is important to maintain their beautiful deep foliage year round.

Incorporating Japanese trees throughout your landscape makeover will give the space a unique and tranquil look unlike any other plant types. Check out HGTV and Better Homes & Gardens for more ways to improve your landscape.

Japanese Maple Seedlings

I have several Japanese trees in my landscape and even have seedlings that I have sold on Craigslist for a small fee. I select the hardy seedlings and place them in a small plastic pot and water and give fertilizer to for my friends. I think I sold over 20 this past spring season. I love sharing my garden and if I can reap some cash, that is a reward.

A few years ago I came up with a game plan. I placed an ad on Craigslist  and offered “free” hosta for the digging. I had all kinds of gardeners calling and bringing trucks out to dig in my garden. I think I was really clever giving away plants and letting the other people do the digging. I free plants seasonally and it helps to keep my garden manageable.

I have so many plants and shrubs in my 1 acre lot that I love sharing with other gardeners. I am thinking about starting a seasonal garden business right in my back yard. It is really great to think up ways to make money in your retirement years. I think I might just found a niche for myself.

Question:  Do you have a niche you are planning for your retirement years? Drop me a note here and let me hear from you.

  6. Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin

    • Good information. WordPress takes care of seo but I will check out some new ideas to help, thanks!
