I am a self-taught artist, interior designer, master gardener, and a published writer. I love anything whimsical and in turn, use all kinds of whimsical characters in my paintings and home. I traveled to San Miguel de Allende and fell in love with the bold colors, art, and the Mexican culture.
I use bold paint colors and whimsical characters in the Queen’s Studio. I began painting late in life and have grown to love Andy Warhol art. The Pop Art gives me the chance to paint outside the lines. The vibrant colors come through
in my paintings and designs. I love color and specialize in whimsical characters that portray a joyful life.
I paint with acrylic and refurbish nutcrackers to give them a whimsical look. I have nutcrackers in all forms and sizes. They are great to display year round. My collection ranges in sizes and mostly painted in the look of Mackenzie-Child décor.
I paint art journals and love using my everyday adventures to put down on paper. I teach classes to fellow employees during our lunch times. My talents go with me whether work or play!
I maintained Queen Studio at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment and enjoyed being surrounded with creative people. It is refreshing to meet people with your kind of interest and talent.
My love of design helped me to obtain a certificate from New York Institute Art & Design . I value my time learning about color, furniture arrangement, and various styles of decorating. I have vibrant rooms in my home with burst of colors that keep me feeling cheerful. Friends that visit say it’s like walking into a museum of color. I am not afraid of color, it brings joy to my life!
I have a love of gardening and obtained a Master Gardening certificate after 6 weeks of classes from my local county extension program. The materials taught me about my local zone 7 and our native plants and trees. I continue to use my knowledge and plant, landscape, and even sell my gardens over-flowing plants on Craigslist. My landscape consists of over 70+ varieties of plants and shrubs. Gardening gives me peace and joy.
I am a published author, Feel it, believe it, Pass it on! The Power of Friendships, in print March 2011. I self-published the book with the help of Outskirts Press and also have a e-book available on Amazon . My book is about my Red Hat Society friends, family, and travel. I love to write and tell a story. We all have one but I think mine is special!
Dreams come in colors, at least they do for me.
The life of an artist is my life you see,
I’ve grown into the person I always wanted to be. – Queen Rose
I currently paint in Queen’s Studio built by my friend and husband. The studio features old windows and doors with whimsical colors, window boxes, and wind chimes. I finished the interior with pallet boards and added shelves, containers, a garden bench to keep me organized. It’s a creative fun place to make my art come alive. It’s my Happy place to visit for all my fun activity.
Albert Einstein said, “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world”
Please stop by anytime for fun and friendship!
