Make time for Art

       Make time for Art!

Many times, we all need a break from life itself. We wind up stressed and tired from the hassles of life. We go through the motions of living and repeat the same routine each day of the week. Well, that kind of life gets you nowhere! Maybe it’s time to think about your schedule and start to Make time for ART!

HINTS TO HELP YOU RECLAIM YOUR LIFE

Make a list of chores you Must do weekly. (cleaning, grocery shopping, attend church) Complete those chores in record time and don’t spend all day with work. There’s loads of fun and you have to keep moving!

Make a list of chores you can give to a family member. (laundry, walk the dog, empty the dishwasher) It’s only fair that members of a household share in the upkeep.

Make a list of things you want to accomplish but never have the time to do!

Making time for yourself is the best thing you can do for you and your family. Your soul will thank you. I know each day is hectic. We all have very little time for the finer things in life. I’m here to tell you the days, weeks, and years go by fast and one day you look around and you have lost your passion for life.

It usually happens when your last child is off to college and you wind up with an empty nest. Believe me, I’ve been there. If you are nearing a zero birthday, (this is a time to reflect on your life) then it’s time to take charge of your time!

  • Learn a new hobby. (Check out Pintrest for endless ideas)
  • Join a book club. (Check out information at your local library)
  • Take up needlepoint. (I love needlepoint and I take it with me on trips to have something to do when traveling in the car.)
  • Join a health club, yoga, power walking, stretch class ( I recommend because muscles start to weaken at the age of 60)
  • Start a journal. (This is a hobby you can pick up and lay down with ease.)
  • Take an art class to see if you have a hidden talent.( I recommend)

If you want to venture into art I have a quick easy project that will get you started.

I bought several 4″x 6″ flat sketch boards at Hobby Lobby and used my Prismacolor and Copic pens to start drawing pictures from my head. It takes some quiet time to bring you to this point in life. I have may Queen Studio to give me the peace I need.

You can look in magazines for art that speaks you. I again reinforce you trying Pintrest for ideas. It can be your life-line to all kinds of interesting ideas.

I like to add quotes and sayings for added interest. Search out google for famous quotes and poets that speak to you. Just like my Make time for art, it’s important.

Crafting for the Soul!

I came across a study, actually my boss sent it to me, about the effects of crafting and how it can be beneficial to you. I feel it carries a lot of weight when you think about the hours spent on a hobby or business and you get self-absorbed in blocking the world out. I know crafting helps me personally when I feel down, depressed, or otherwise not myself. I hope you will find this article inspiring.

“It’s okay to do your craft, anytime, any day.”the Queen said so!

Some highlights are:

  • Crafting can help those who suffer from anxiety, depression or chronic pain, experts say it is a good way to increase activities.
  • It may also ease stress, increase happiness by releasing neurotransmitter called dopamine.
  • Leisure activities such as reading and crafting may protect brain from aging, study finds this to be true.
